Hmmmm . . . this
looks interesting.

Sure does, J.B. ; look at these
Church records. Here ‘s real
evidence ! He left the Church
and started his own. He must
have recognized this whole
thing was a farce.

I see right here in the Church records that you were excommunicated. Even though you were
the Stake President and one of the Three Witnesses. They had the nerve to accuse you of:

1. Not observing the Word of Wisdom ( the Lord ‛s law of health which requires that members abstain from coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco, and harmful drugs ).
2. Un-Christian-like conduct.
3. Writing letters unfavorable to the cause and to the character of Joseph Smith.
4. Neglecting your Church duties.
5. Declaring yourself President of the Church of Christ and insulting the High Council.
How did they dare do that to you ?

I agree, they shouldn ‛t have
treated me that way. What right do they have to tell me what I can and can ‛t do. They were going the wrong way. That ‛s why I left and started the Church of Christ.1

  Now we ‛re
moving along !

1 David Whitmer was excommunicated on April 13, 1838, after completely rejecting the leadership of Joseph Smith.
( Sperry ; “ Book of Mormon Compendium,” Page 62 ). David Whitmer also opposed the “ Law of Consecration ” and the growing program of organization in the Church. He later formed his own group with a simplified organization called the “ Church of Christ ” ( Reynolds ; “ Book of Mormon Authorship Revisited,” Pgs 47, 49 )
