How are we supposed
to decipher this ? It looks like gibberish to me.
 
     
  That, gentlemen, is the Lord ‛s Prayer (which you may remember from the New Testament) written in Old English in 1005 A.D. During the following 1,000 years those characters
altered in our current alphabet you recognize and write everyday. *

  I see, some of the characters are still used by us today, but others
have been combined or
altered into our modern
alphabet.

  Fascinating !  
     
  So it stands to reason that the alphabet used by the Nephite Prophets would look different from it ‛s original source. Add to that the fact that Joseph had his own limitations as a copyist and may have inadvertantly distorted some of the characters as he transcribed them.
