In 1916, President Joseph F. Smith said :
All these, your brethren, that are called to the apostleship
. . . are . . . to be eye and ear witnesses of the divine
mission of Jesus Christ. It is not permissible for them to
say, I believe, simply . . . the Lord informs us they must
know . . . it must be with them as though they had seen
with their eyes and heard with their ears and they
know the truth. ” ( Conference Report April 1916, p. 6 )

  Elder Boyd K. Packer again
spoke on this subject at General
Conference in 1980.

We lay no claim to being apostles of the world — but of the Lord Jesus Christ. The
test is not whether men will believe, but whether the Lord has called us — and of that
there is no doubt. We do not talk of those sacred interviews that qualify the servants
of the Lord to bear a special witness of Him, for we have been commanded not to do
so. But we are free, we are obliged, to share that special witness.

  So, how many more witnesses
does this information potentially
add to your original chart ?

  Since the restoration of the
Gospel in 1830, there have been
102 Apostles called to serve.
