The first time occurred in
1820 when I was sincerely
seeking for the Truth. I
testify that He did appear
and speak to me on that
occasion, answering my question as to which church I should join.
  This is My
Beloved Son.
  I can ‛t believe that
I ‛m seeing the Lord,
but I am.
The second time, He appeared to [ both ] Sidney Rigdon and me, in Hiram, Ohio, on February 16, 1832. It is recorded as follows in D&C 76:22-24 “ And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of Him [ by ancient Prophets ], this is the testimony, last of all [ in these latter days ], which we give of Him ; that He lives ! For we saw Him, even on the right hand of God ; and we heard the Voice bearing record that He [ Christ ] is the Only Begotten of the Father . . . and the inhabitants [ of the world ] thereof are begotten Sons and Daughters unto God.”
  Sidney, this is not
the first time Christ
has appeared to me.
The third time He appeared on April 3 , 1836, during the Kirtland Temple dedication to [ both ] Oliver Cowdery and me. D&C 110 : 2-4 “ We saw the Lord standing . . . and under His feet was a paved work of pure gold, . . . His eyes were as a flame of fire ; the hair of His head was white like the pure snow . . . and His Voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters . . . saying : I am the First and the Last, I am He who . . . was slain ; I am your Advocate with the Father. ”
  Oliver, behold
the Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ.
