God‛s authority, called “ The Priesthood,” is
given to His Prophets. The Priesthood is
the power and authority of God delegated
to man to act in God ‛s name.1 Without
this Priesthood authority of God, man is
simply acting on his own, and therefore his
authority is not recognized by God.2 |

This Priesthood authority
is given directly by God through His authorized servants |
by the laying on of hands,3 |
cannot be taken upon oneself,4 |
cannot be purchased for money,5 |
cannot be acquired by one ‛s personal intellect,6 and |
does not come through schooling, college degrees, or
the wisdom of the world.7 |
