2nd Peter 1:20-21 states : “ Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation [ by man ]. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but Holy Men [ Prophets ] of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Without living Prophets and Apostles to clarify and explain the true meaning of the Scriptures, men are left to their own “ private interpretations “ of the already divergent versions of the Bible.

THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS HAVE RESULTED FROM THE USE OF MANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE BIBLE.

  1) Because of the many errors, contradictions,
and omissions in the Bible, anyone can
pick and choose what version they want to
believe, teach, and interpret.

  2) Because the Bible is difficult to interpret and understand accurately, reasonable men, approaching it wholly from an “ intellectual standpoint, ” can reach divergent conclusions on almost all doctrines.1
  3) With all the different versions
of the Bible, it is difficult to know
which teachings and history are
reported accurately and are literally
true instead of only figuratively
true.
