are blind. Almost half of these cases, 20 million, are due to conditions that can be reversed
with a simple surgery.
 
 
  If we keep praying
for a miracle, I ‛ll be able
to get the operation to
restore my sight.
 
     
  The Church has organized vision treatment training to address this problem. Each year, certified ophthalmologists volunteer their time to work with established medical facilities in developing countries. Those who complete the training can eventually heal thousands.  
 
  Miracles
do happen.
 
  Partnering with the Gift of
Sight foundation, the Church
recently coordinated the
donation of 25,000 pairs of
eyeglasses in Chile.*
 
     
  4) Work Missionaries – Approximately “ 3,000 retired or semi-retired professionals ” with skills and experience in education, agriculture, construction, social work, business, and medicine receive callings to serve for 12 to 24 months, donating their knowledge, skills, and training capabilities, helping people and governments in all parts of the world to improve their way of life on subjects of sanitation, nutrition, physical, social, and economical areas.
